Ear-catching songs, blooming from a diverse range of musical roots, make up the intimate and intense
canvas in which Bobby Doran spills his soul. The Rhode Island born singer/songwriter has been making a name for himself with
a passion for his craft, soulful lyrics, and refreshing, oringinal music, with enough versatility to please audiences of all
ages.
Bobby Doran's musical journey began at age 13, after taking up electric guitar and plugging away at Metallica,
Nirvana, and Beatles riffs. His learning curve led him to learn just about every piece of music that he could get his hands
on. At 18, Bobby began writing his own songs, and quickly chose his path after a handful of early live performances, finding
a niche for his songwriting and sound.
influences: The
Beatles, Damien Rice, Ben Harper, Chris Cornell and John Mayer, Gavin Degraw, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Dave Matthews
Band, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Beck, Jason Mraz, and 311. Residing in Denver, Colorado,
and perfecting his craft as an acoustic act, Doran pleased crowds with live looping, made popular by Howie Day, Keller Williams
and Tim Reynolds. Guitar riffs were recorded with the click of a guitar stomp-box pedal, layered with electric lead parts,
basslines, drum beats and harmonies, all live and solo. Bobby was recognized by the Pikes Peak Arts Association for a perfomer
of the year nomination, has shared the stage with national acts, including Mason Jennings and Teitur. Bobby has also been
fortnate enough to become involved in a 'Rescue On the Rocks' concert, featuring Blues Traveler, and Michael Franti
& Spearhead, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Throughout his many performances, Bobby has been involved in numerous
benefit / charity events with foundations including "Guitars for Life", "Kids Life Asia", "Katrina
Relief" and "Rett Syndrome Research". In his travels, Bobby has ventured nationwide, promoting his music on
the road, with great success in New York, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles and San Diego.
